Three step mounting blockMar 23, 2010

I needed a mounting block I could take in the truck to various events. My old traveling mounting block, a hardware store two-step ladder, collapsed when I had one foot in the stirrup and I fell across my leg breaking my ankle and requiring new ACL and MCL cadaver ligaments. I've been back riding severalHammer 3 Step Mounting Block months and needed to be able to be up pretty high to mount and to be able to dismount onto the mounting block.
The Hammer 3 step mounting block is perfect. Much better than those usually advertised in tack store catalogs. It is stable, has a good non-slip surface, and a big enough top step to step down on. By myself (female, 66) I can lift it (with a little effort) over the side of the truck and into the truckbed.
Hammer should advertise in all the horse catalogs. I found it by searching Amazon-imagine that. NR

perfect height to mount a 17 hand horse for a small woman with a bad left knee! Easy to pick up and carry, very stable.

Mounting block is very well built, 24 inches tall and doesn't wobble when mounting. Most 3 step mounting blocks are much less than 24 inches in height. You need the 24 inches to mount a 17H horse with out pulling on the horses withers. The only other 24 inch mounting block we purchased was much less sturdily built than this one and broke in cold weather. Great product and I like the name too(Don't think the manufacturer is a relative). I doubt I will have to buy another mounting block soon.
